Scientific Analog to Present 5G RF Transceiver Models with XMODEL at 20th RF/Analog Circuit Workshop, Korea

Scientific Analog, Inc. is pleased to announce that Jaeha Kim, CEO and Founder of Scientific Analog will be giving an invited talk titled, "Event-Driven Modeling and Simulation of 5G RF Transceivers with XMODEL," at the 20th RF/Analog Circuit Workshop held during September 17-19. The workshop hosts a variety of technical sessions on the state-of-the-art integrated circuits in wireline/wireless communications, data conversion, power conversion, sensor interfaces, and even AI accelerators. Further information can be found from its official website: http://rf20th.ieieweb.org. Due to COVID-19, this year's event will be hosted virtually.

Dr. Jaeha Kim will be showcasing the recent studies in modeling 5G RF transceiver ICs in SystemVerilog leveraging the capabilities of XMODEL. Particularly, the XMODEL's approach of expressing RF signals with equations instead of values enables faster simulation than with the baseband-equivalent real-number models, while achieving even higher accuracy including the harmonic distortion effects due to circuit nonlinearities. In addition, XMODEL keeps the simulation entirely within SystemVerilog and is suitable for verifying various digital calibration loops such as the 5G power amplifiers with digital predistortion (DPD).

Scientific Analog, Inc. is a leading developer and provider of a mixed-signal simulator in SystemVerilog (XMODEL), automatic model generator (MODELZEN), and schematic-based design environment (GLISTER). The Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers (IEIE) is the oldest academic organization in Korea with 74 years of history and promotes the exchange and dissemination of the technical advancements in the fields of electronics, information, and communications.
